Styles (Citing Sources): This page of
resources
will help students create a
bibliography for reports.
- BIOGRAPHY
DATABASE FROM SFPL (http://sfpl.org.ca.us) From the main SFPL page,
click on "Articles and Databases". This is found on the left,
second
item under the yellow/gold "search catalog" box. Click on "Alphabetical
List" and then "Biography Resource Center/Marquis Who's Who".
Enter
your library card number. Type in the name of the person.
One
or more documents will appear in the default tab"Narrative
Biographies". Click on the title to read
the
information. Other tabs available for information are: Thumbnail
Biographies, Marquis Who's Who, Magazine Articles, and Websites.
- AFRICAN-AMERICAN
BIOGRAPHICAL DATABASE (http://www.africanpubs.com/):
Click on African Americans. The Login isdes5.
(You might have to enter it two times). Select letter of the last name
of the person, i.e., A for Maya Angelou. Then scroll to the name and
click
on it.
- NetTrekkerResource
from SFUSD (http://middle.nettrekker.com/subject/?home=1): Collection
of
reviewed
websites. User name and password are bothsfusd.
Type in the name of the author and click search.
- Authors
and Books from Scholastic (http://www2.scholastic.com/teachers/authorsandbooks/authorstudies/authorstudies.jhtml):
From this page you can search on author by clicking that dot instead of
book. The site highlights author visits and recent conversations with
authors.
There is a link to the "Visiting Author Series" with a link to the
transcripts
for events earlier this school year.

is created by the author who felt that the site created by her
publishers
was dull. Also it is a great way for her to communicate to
all her fans. She can tell the truth about rumors, share extra
information
she did not put in the books, give hints and clues as to what is going
to happen to Harry Potter, etc.
